ว่าไงสายอาร์ต วันนี้เราจะพาทุกท่านไปพบกับนิทรรศการกลุ่ม ที่ได้รวบรวมศิลปินชื่อดังไว้มากถึง 12 ท่าน ที่จะพาทุกคนไปชมผลงานศิลปะ ที่ทำลงบนเครื่องหนัง ที่เหล่าสายอาร์ตไม่เคยเห็นจากที่ไหนแน่นอน ถ้าพร้อมแล้วก็ไปรับชมกันได้เลย!!

"Unveiling Leather: The Artistic Journey of Craftsmanship" นิทรรศการกลุ่ม จาก 12 ศิลปิน กิติก้อง ติลกวัฒโนทัย, ลูกปลิว จันทร์พุดซา, ปราชญ์ นิยมค้า, รักกิจ ควรหาเวช, สมิตา รุ่งขวัญศิริโรจน์, สมยศ หาญอนันทสุข, เต็มใจ ชลศิริ, ไทวิจิต พึ่งเกษมสมบูรณ์, Trey Hurst, อุดม อุดมศรีอนันต์, วศินบุรี สุพานิชวรภาชน์ และพฤษ์พล มุกดาสนิท (MAMAFAKA)

นิทรรศการครั้งนี้ ศิลปินแต่ละท่านก็ได้หยิบเอาเอกลักษณ์และเสน่ห์ของหนังมาเป็นตัวชูโรงในการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานตามสไตล์ของตน แต่ละท่านเลือกหนังที่เหมาะกับกระบวนการสร้างสรรค์หรือรูปแบบหนังที่สร้างความท้าทายในการพัฒนาต่อยอดแนวคิดและเอกลักษณ์ของตนที่สั่งสมมา ผสมเข้ากับนวัตกรรมทั้งแบบดั้งเดิมและแบบสมัยใหม่ รวมถึงเทคนิคและความเชี่ยวชาญของช่างฝีมือ ผลงานที่สร้างสรรค์ออกมาแสดงถึงโอกาสที่ได้ทดลองก้าวข้ามขนบงานฝีมือในสื่อที่หลากหลาย ไม่ว่าจะเป็นประติมากรรม งานถักทอ หรือภาพวาด หนัง ในฐานะวัสดุสร้างศิลป์ สื่อให้เห็นถึง รูปทรง (Form) การใช้งาน (Function) และอารมณ์ความรู้สึก (Emotion) ซึ่งเริ่มต้นจากความชื่นชมของศิลปินผสมเข้ากับความเคารพในทักษะของช่างฝีมือที่สืบทอดต่อกันมา และพัฒนาอย่างต่อเนื่องตามยุคสมัย

โดยเราได้มีโอกาสได้พูดคุยกับศิลปิน 4 ท่าน ที่ได้นำผลงานมาจัดแสดงภายในนิทรรศการ ทั้ง สมยศ หาญอนันทสุข, เต็มใจ ชลศิริ, กิติก้อง ติลกวัฒโนทัย และ อุดม อุดมศรีอนันต์ ซึ่งศิลปินทั้งสี่ท่านถือว่าเป็นการนำเครื่องหนังมาผสมผสานกับผลงานศิลปะเป็นครั้งแรก

สมยศ หาญอนันทสุข กับผลงานในรูปแบบศิลปะนามธรรม ซึ่งใช้เทคนิค Air brush และเทคนิคการปะติด Collage ลงบนหนังสัตว์ โดยศิลปินก็ได้ฝากถึงคนที่เข้ามารับชมผลงานว่า ให้ปล่อยอารมณ์และความชอบไปตามความรู้สึก แต่ละคนก็จะสัมพันธ์กับงานไม่เหมือนกัน ปล่อยใจให้สบายและมีความสุขไปกับการชมผลงาน

เต็มใจ ชลศิริ กับการเปรียบเทียบห้วงเวลาระหว่างเสี้ยววินาทีที่ความคิดกระทบจิตใจกับก้อนหินที่ตกกระทบลงบนผิวน้ำ คลื่นน้ำที่ปรากฏขึ้นแม้จะเห็นเด่นชัดแต่ก็เป็นสิ่งชั่วคราว ที่สื่อถึงการทำสมาธิของเรา ซึ่งงานชุดนี้ศิลปินก็ได้นำเสนอรูปร่างของคลื่นผิวน้ำผ่านวัสดุเครื่องหนัง

กิติก้อง ติลกวัฒโนทัย กับการใช้หมึกและการใช้ฝีแปรง วาดลงบนฉากกั้นที่หุ้มด้วยเครื่องหนัง ปลดปล่อยอารมณ์ความรู้สึกได้อย่างอิสระผ่านศิลปะนามธรรม สร้างสรรค์ผลงานที่เหมือนกับหยุดการเคลื่อนที่ของเวลา

อุดม อุดมศรีอนันต์ เป็นที่รู้จักอย่างแพร่หลายในวงการออกแบบผลิตภัณฑ์ กับงานออกแบบที่ดึงเอาองค์ประกอบจากรูปทรงของธรรมชาติเป็นแรงบันดาลใจ โดยงานภายในนิทรรศการ ศิลปินก็ได้นำวัสดุธรรมชาติอย่างหนังสัตว์มาสร้างสรรค์ผลงานทั้งโต๊ะ และ เก้าอี้หนังสีขาว

นิทรรศการครั้งนี้ได้รับความร่วมมือจาก Archives Design ภายใต้บริษัท Ampa ผู้นำด้านการผลิตและการส่งออกหนังที่เป็นการร่วมมือกันระหว่างศิลปินทั้ง 12 ท่าน และช่างฝีมือเครื่องหนังจากบริษัท Archives Design ที่มีประสบการณ์ในการทำเครื่องหนังมากกว่า 40 ปี เป็นการผสมผสานเทคนิคการทำเครื่องหนังให้เข้ากับงานศิลปะ ทำให้ผลงานภายในนิทรรศการ เครื่องหนังกับงานศิลปะดูสอดผสานกันได้อย่างลงตัว การทำเครื่องหนังให้ออกมาอยู่ในรูปแบบต่างๆ ยังเป็นการได้แสดงฝีมือของช่างเครื่องหนังในบ้านเรา ได้มีส่วนร่วมในการนำเสนองานศิลป์ของเขาผ่านผลงานของศิลปินในนิทรรศการนี้อีกด้วย

This exhibition features works from 12 exceptional artists: Kitikong Tilokwattanotai, Lugpliw Junpudsa, Prach Niyomkar, Rukkit (Kuanhawate Satapornvajana), Samita Rungkwansiriroj, Somyot Hananuntasuk, Temjai Cholsiri, Thaiwijit Puengkasemsomboon, Trey Hurst, Udom Udomsrianan, Wasinburee Supanichvoraparch, and MAMAFAKA (Pharuephon Mukdasanit).

For this group exhibition, each artist has embraced the uniqueness and charm of leather to create works in their own distinctive styles. Whether it is through selecting suitable leather types and techniques for their artistic process or by deliberately choosing leather that presents challenges, each artist expresses their individual concepts and identities. These works seamlessly integrate traditional and contemporary innovations, as well as the techniques and expertise of artisans. The resulting creations demonstrate the opportunities to transcend the boundaries of craftsmanship in diverse media, be it sculpture, weaving, or painting. Leather, as an art material, visually embodies Form, Function, and Emotion, beginning with the artist's admiration combined with a deep respect for the skills passed down through generations, adapting and evolving with the times.

During the exhibition, we had the privilege of speaking with four talented artists: Somyot Hananuntasuk, Temjai Cholsiri, Kitikong Tilokwattanotai, and Udom Udomsrianan. It was their first time incorporating leather into their artwork, and they were excited to experiment with this new material.

Somyot Hananuntasuk, known for his unique abstract artistry, employs the Airbrush technique in combination with the collage technique, using the canvas of animal skins as his chosen medium. Through his art, Somyot delivers a profound message to his audience, encouraging them to release their emotions and preferences in accordance with their own visceral sensations. His intention is to emphasize that every individual will forge a distinct and personal connection with his creations. He invites viewers to unwind, revel in the moment, and savor the visual journey his works offer.

In her artwork, Temjai Cholsiri compares the quick appearance of thoughts to a stone dropping into water. This comparison shows how the ripples that come from both are temporary, highlighting how our moments of thinking don't last long. She uses leather to craft water-like waves in this piece, capturing the feeling of meditation.

Capture the essence of Kitikong Tilokwattanotai's spirit using ink and brush strokes upon a canvas veiled in leather. Unleash emotions with unbridled liberty through the medium of abstract art. Craft pieces that suspend the cadence of time, freezing fleeting moments in eternal contemplation.

Udom Udomsrianan is widely recognized within the realm of product design for his exceptional ability to derive inspiration from the organic forms found in nature. This distinctive approach is prominently showcased in his creations featured within the exhibition. In his artistic endeavors, he also adeptly integrates natural materials like animal skins, crafting pieces like tables and chairs from white leather that truly exemplify his unique perspective.

This exhibit is a joint effort between Archives Design, a subsidiary of Ampa Company, a prominent leather manufacturer and exporter, and a group of 12 artists collaborating with skilled leather craftsmen from the Archives Design Company. These craftsmen bring over four decades of expertise in leather craftsmanship to the partnership. It fuses the art of leather craftsmanship with creative artworks, seamlessly blending them within the exhibit. The synergy between leather and art is flawlessly displayed in the diverse array of leather goods, each taking on unique forms. Moreover, the exhibition serves as a testament to the exceptional skill of our nation's leather artisans, highlighting their craftsmanship. The artist, too, has contributed to this showcase by presenting their artworks alongside the leather creations, further enriching the presentation of their artistic vision.
