ภาพถ่าย “The sacred ritual of Chanban” เป็นการถ่ายภาพระบำหน้ากากวัชระ (Tsam) ที่ร่ายรำโดย Chanban (ชันบัน) ตัวแทนของพระสงฆ์ระดับสูงผู้นำในพิธี เป็นผู้ที่ไม่สวมใส่หน้ากากแต่จะสวมหมวกสีดำที่ทำจากขนจามรีปีกกว้าง ด้านบนมีหัวกะโหลกจำนวน 5 หัวเพื่อแสดงฐานะที่สูงที่สุดในพิธี ชันบันจะเป็นผู้ร่ายรำเป็นผู้นำเต้นในพิธีไปพร้อมกับการสวดมนต์ของพระลามะเป็นเวลา 3 วัน 3 คืนเพื่อรวบรวมสิ่งชั่วร้ายในโลกเพื่อนำมาเผาทำลายให้สิ้นในพิธีกรรมวันสุดท้าย เป็นการชำระล้างให้โลกสะอาดบริสุทธิ์อีกครั้ง

ระบำหน้ากากวัชระ (Tsam) เป็นศิลปะที่ซับซ้อนของศาสนาและวัฒนธรรม ซึ่งฝึกฝนโดยผสมผสานระหว่างร่างกาย ภาษา และอัจฉริยภาพทางปัญญาเข้าเป็นความหมายเดียวด้วย การเคลื่อนไหวในการร่ายรำ การสวดมนต์และการทำสมาธิ การแสดงระบำหน้ากากนี้ จึงดูราวกับว่าผู้พิทักษ์และเทพเจ้าได้ลงมาสถิตบนร่างกายของผู้ร่ายรำ

ระบำหน้ากากวัชระเป็นพิธีที่สำคัญของนิกายวัชรยาน มีเพียงพระสงฆ์ในนิกายหรือลามะที่เตรียมตัวมาอย่างดีเท่านั้นที่ได้รับคัดเลือกให้แสดง โดยจะจัดแสดงขึ้นตามข้อกำหนดบางประการและในบางสถานการณ์ เช่น การแสดง Tsam จัดขึ้นเพื่อปราบและชำระสิ่งแวดล้อมภายนอก กำจัดโรคภัย ความทุกข์ยาก สงคราม ความอดอยาก ความยากลำบาก และแผ่ความเป็นสิริมงคล พระลามะที่แสดงต้องมีคุณสมบัติเหมาะสมและเตรียมตัวสำหรับการแสดงด้วยการจำศีลทำสมาธิเพื่อชำระล้างจิตใจให้บริสุทธิ์

The photograph captures "The Sacred Ritual of Chanban," depicting the performance of the mask dance (Tsam) by Chanban, the representative of high-ranking monks in the ceremony. Chanban, who does not wear a mask, instead adorns a black hat made of yak hair with wide brim hat. The top of the hat features five skulls to symbolize the highest status in the ritual. Chanban leads the dance in the ceremony accompanied by chanting prayers for three days and three nights. This ritual aims to gather the evils of the world and burn them away in the concluding ceremony, purifying the world once again.

The Tsam masked dance is regarded as one of the most significant rituals in Vajrayana Buddhism. It originated in the Tibetan region during the 8th century and evolved in response to geographical and societal changes. Over the centuries, the Tsam masked dance spread into Mongolia, intertwining with the dissemination of Buddhism and blending with Mongolian culture. This fusion has given the Khuree Tsam, the Mongolian version of the Tsam masked dance, a unique and distinct identity.
JKBoy หรือ เจตนิพัทธ์ เกษประดิษฐ์ (เกิดปี 2527) ช่างภาพที่มีความเชี่ยวชาญพิเศษในการถ่ายภาพบุคคลและวัฒนธรรม ที่สามารถบอกเล่าเรื่องราวของกลุ่มชนชาติพันธุ์ที่มีความหลากหลายและแตกต่างทั้งทางด้านภาษา วัฒนธรรม และวิถีชีวิต ผ่านภาพถ่ายของเขาได้อย่างงดงามและน่าอัศจรรย์

ผลงานของเขาได้รับการยอมรับจากเวทีระดับโลกและได้รับรางวัลชนะเลิศ จากรายการประกวดชั้นนำระดับนานาชาติมากมาย อาทิ รางวัลชนะเลิศ The International Photographer of the year จากรายการ World Photo Annual 2023 ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา, รางวัลชนะเลิศ The overall winner of The International Portrait Photographer of the year 2022 จากรายการประกวดของราชอาณาจักรและเครือจักรภพ, รางวัลชนะเลิศ European Professional Photographer of the year 2022 และปี 2023 (สองปีซ้อน) จากรายการประกวดของสหภาพยุโรป, รางวัลชนะเลิศ Professional Photographer of the year 2022 จากรายการ One Eyeland Awards ประเทศอินเดีย, รางวัลชนะเลิศอันดับ 1 ภาพถ่ายบุคคลจาก TIPA 2022 ประเทศญี่ปุ่น และอื่น ๆ อีกมากมาย โดยมีผลงานที่ได้รับคัดเลือกให้จัดแสดงในนิทรรศการศิลปะและภาพถ่ายทั้งในฝรั่งเศส อิตาลี เยอรมัน อเมริกา จีน ผลงานของเขาได้ถูกตีพิมพ์ผ่านสื่อต่างประเทศจำนวนมาก อาทิ Lonely Planet, Digital Camera World, Digital SLR Photography, National Geographic (Espana), The Times (UK), The Guardian (UK), View Magazine (Germany), American Photography (USA) และอื่น ๆ

JKBoy or Jatenipat Ketpradit (born 1984), a professional photographer and adventurer who sets out to find the beauty of diverse ethnicities and cultures hidden in remote areas around the world.

Jatenipat is a photographer with special expertise in portraits and culture. He is able to tell the stories of ethnic groups that are diverse and different in language, culture, and way of life through his pictures in a beautiful and amazing way.

His work has been recognized on the world stage. He has won first prizes from many leading international competitions such as the winner of The International Photographer of the year from World Photo Annual 2023, USA, the overall winner of The International Portrait Photographer of the year 2022 from the competition of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth, Winner of European Professional Photographer of the year 2022 and 2023 (two years in a row) from the European Union competition, Winner of Professional Photographer of the year 2022 from One Eyeland Awards, India, 1st place in Portrait Photography of TIPA 2022 from Japan, and many others.
