เริ่มด้วยนิทรรศการ “Utopia” นิทรรศการกลุ่มโดยศิลปินรุ่นใหม่ 4 ท่าน Beya (ปณิชา แสงทองอร่าม), ชนนภัส ยกใหญ่, Keng Jeans (นนทกร วชิรโกสีย์) และ นวัต คิวบิก ที่ร่วมกันถ่ายทอดเรื่องราวต่าง ๆ ที่เกิดขึ้นในจิตใจที่เป็นแรงผลักดันจากปัญหาที่เกิดขึ้นในสังคมที่เขาและเธออาศัยอยู่ ต่อด้วยนิทรรศการจากเชียงใหม่ “IKIRO – Be Alive – Returning to the Source” โดย Takahiro Suzuki ศิลปินชาวญี่ปุ่น ที่จะให้ผู้ชมได้ไปค้นหาความหมายของคำว่า “อิคิโระ" และนิทรรศการจากประเทศสิงคโปร์ On Bare Land โดย Liu Hsin-Ying ศิลปินจะพาเราไปสำรวจถึงแนวคิดเรื่องการดำรงอยู่ผ่านภาษาภาพที่จัดแสดง ก้าวข้ามขอบเขตของอารยธรรมและการดำรงชีวิต ยังมีนิทรรศการอะไรอีกบ้าง ตามไปรับชมกันได้เลย!!
Starting with the exhibition "Utopia," a group exhibition by 4 emerging artists: Beya (Panicha Saengthongaram), Chonnapas Yokyai, Keng Jeans (Nontakorn Vachirakosri), and Nawat Cubic, who together express various stories that arise in their minds, motivated by problems occurring in the society they live in. Followed by the exhibition from Chiang Mai, "IKIRO – Be Alive – Returning to the Source" by Takahiro Suzuki, a Japanese artist who invites viewers to explore the meaning of the word "IKIRO." And the exhibition from Singapore, "On Bare Land" by Liu Hsin-Ying, takes us to explore concepts of existence through visual language exhibited, crossing the boundaries of civilization and life. Beya (ปณิชา แสงทองอร่าม)
นักวาดภาพอิสระชาวไทยที่ชอบท่องเที่ยวเพื่อพบเจอ ความหลากหลายของวัฒนธรรม และนําเรื่องราวที่ได้พบเจอมาเป็นแรงบันดาลใจ งานของเธอมีทั้งภาพดิจิตอลและการใช้มิกซ์มีเดียบนแคนวาสที่แสดงให้เห็นถึงความมีชีวิตชีวาหากแต่มีความหมายอันลึกซึ้งแฝงอยู่

ชนนภัส ยกใหญ่
ชนนภัส ยกใหญ่ เกิดที่กรุงเทพฯ ประเทศไทย เป็นศิลปินที่กําลังศึกษาอยู่ในคณะจิตรกรรม ประติมากรรม และภาพพิมพ์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร ผลงานของเธอเป็นภาพวาดเชิงสัญญะและลัทธิเหนือจริง งานของเธอขับเคลื่อนด้วยความสนใจในชีวิตประจําวันจากแง่มุมความเป็นผู้หญิง ผลงานของเธอมุ่งหวังที่จะค้นหาคําตอบของเส้นแบ่งระหว่างชายและหญิงในกรอบบรรทัดฐานทางสังคมที่เธอต้องเผชิญด้วยการเล่าเรื่องผ่านภาพวาดสีสันสดใสที่เกินจริงและเรือนร่างฟิกเกอร์ที่ดูปกปิด อําพรางใบหน้าท่ามกลางแลนด์สเคปผิดแปลกที่ชวนให้คนดูได้ตีความและร่วมสํารวจผ่านประสบการณ์ส่วนตัวของแต่ละคนไปพร้อม ๆกัน

Nawat Cubic
Nawat Cubic (นวัต คิวบิก) ค้นพบความแตกต่างของตัวเองตั้งแต่วัยเด็ก เขามองเห็นสิ่งต่าง ๆ รอบตัวในชีวิตประจำวันที่มักจะแตกกระจายออกมาเป็นรูปทรงเรขาคณิตที่สวยงาม ทำให้เขามีอุดมการณ์ที่จะบันทึกภาพในจินตนาการของเขาบนผืนผ้าใบให้ผู้คนได้เห็นไปจนวันสุดท้ายของชีวิต
นวัตได้เริ่มขายภาพวาดให้กับชาวต่างชาติตั้งแต่ยังเรียนอยู่มหาวิทยาลัยปี 3 นั่นเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นให้เขาได้ซึมซับกับความแตกต่างทางวัฒนธรรมของผู้คนที่หลากหลายผ่านทางนักสะสมที่เขารู้จัก เขาจึงเกิดข้อสงสัยว่าอะไรคือสาเหตุที่ทำให้โลกของเราเต็มไปด้วยความซับซ้อน ประวัติศาสตร์สอนเขาว่าสิ่งเหล่านี้ล้วนเกิดขึ้นจากการกระทำของมนุษย์ทั้งสิ้น ทำให้เขาสนใจในพฤติกรรมของผู้คนบนโลกที่กำลังกระทำบางสิ่งบางอย่างที่ไม่อาจคาดเดาได้ ปัจจุบันภาพวาดจำนวนร้อยกว่าชิ้นของเขากระจัดกระจายไปกับนักสะสมตามประเทศต่าง ๆ กว่า 20 ประเทศ

Beya (Panicha Saengthongaram)
Beya is a Thai independent artist who delights in traveling to encounter diverse cultures, drawing inspiration from the stories she encounters along the way. Her works encompass both digital paintings and mixed media on canvas, vividly illustrating the vibrancy of life. Yet, beneath the surface lies a profound and enigmatic meaning.

Chonnapas Yokyai
Born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand, Chonnapas Yokyai is an artist currently studying in the Faculty of Fine Arts, majoring in Painting, Sculpture, and Printmaking at Silpakorn University. Her works are symbolic and transcendental paintings. Fueled by her interest in everyday life from a feminist perspective, her art endeavors to explore the answers to the gender divide with the societal framework she confronts. Through vibrant and surrealistic paintings and subtly veiled figurines, she casts a spell, inviting viewers to interpret and explore through their own personal experiences. Her art portrays a peculiar and twisted scape, inviting people to interpret and explore through their own personal experiences.

Keng Jeans
Keng Jeans is currently studying in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Silpakorn University, majoring in Applied Arts with a focus on Fine Arts. Living the daily life of an artist, he works diligently in the studio, constantly exploring and researching artistic practices. With a keen interest in Surrealist art, Keng Jeans is passionate about delving into the realm of artistry.

Nawat Cubic
Since childhood, Nawat Cubic has discovered the uniqueness within himself. He sees the various elements around him in his daily life, often scattered and fragmented, forming beautiful geometric shapes. This fuels his creativity to capture images in his imagination onto canvases for others to see until the end of his days.
Nawat embarked on selling his artwork to foreigners while still in his third year of university. This marked the beginning of Nawat’s immersion into the cultural diversity of people he encountered through collectors he knew. It sparked his curiosity about what causes the world to be filled with such complexity. History taught him that these intricacies are solely the result of human actions, driving his interest in the behaviors of people across the globe, engaging in unpredictable activities. Presently, over a hundred pieces of his artwork are scattered among collectors in more than 20 countries.

หอศิลป พีระศรี (BIMA) เปิดตัวอย่างเป็นทางการเมื่อ 14 พฤษภาคม 2517 แต่แนวคิดการจัดตั้ง เริ่มตั้งแต่เมื่อครั้ง อ.ศิลป พีระศรี ยังมีชีวิต โดยการสนับสนุนจาก ดร.ป๋วย อึ้งภากรณ์ เมื่อครั้งดำรงตำแหน่ง ผอ.สำนักงบประมาณ ซึ่งทั้งสองท่านมองเห็นปัญหาการ “ไม่มีแกลเลอ์รึสำหรับ Modern Art” ในสังคมไทย เมื่อ อ.ศิลป ถึงแก่กรรมในปี 2505 โครงการหอศิลปฯ หยุดชะงักชั่วคราว แต่ไม่นานโครงการก็ได้รับการสานต่อจาก ดร.ป๋วยและลูกศิษย์หลายท่านของ อ.ศิลป โดยร่วมกันก่อตั้ง “มูลนิธิหอศิลป พีระศรี” และเชิญ ม.ร.ว.พันธุ์ทิพย์ บริพัตร มาเป็นประธาน

ในเดือนพฤษภาคมปี 2567 นี้ จะครบ 50 ปีของการเปิด หอศิลป พีระศรี อย่างเป็นทางการ และครบ 36 ปีที่ต้องปิดตัวไป น่าคิดว่า ถึงเวลาแล้วหรือยังที่ หอศิลป พีระศรี จะกลับฟื้นคืนความเป็นพื้นที่ศิลปะอีกครั้ง? ขอเชิญร่วมรื้อฟื้นบรรยากาศ ร่วมฟังแนวคิด และเสนอทางออกใหม่ ๆ ให้กับ หอศิลป พีระศรี ว่าควรจะเป็นอะไรหรือมีบทบาทต่อสังคมไทยอย่างไรในอนาคต

Revitalizing Bangkok Through Art and Architecture: A Case Study on BIMA's Vision for the City's Future. A temporary exhibition lasting only 3 days will be held at the Bhirasri Institution of Modern Art (BIMA) to rejuvenate the atmosphere of being an art space once again. Featuring guest artists such as Alex Face, Manit Sriwanichpoom, Pinnai Sirikiatikul, The Canopy Project, Keen Collective & Digital Agency, and includes three seminars discussing the drive and revitalization of the city through art and cultural spaces.
Bhirasri Institution of Modern Art (BIMA) officially opened on May 14, 1974, but the idea of its establishment began when Professor Silpa Bhirasri was still alive, with support from Dr. Puey Ungphakorn, the Director of the Budget Bureau. Both recognized the problem of "no gallery for Modern Art" in Thai society. After Professor Silpa passed away in 1962, the gallery project temporarily halted, but was soon continued by Dr. Puey and several of Silpa's students, who together established the "Silpa Bhirasri Art Gallery Foundation" and invited MR Pantip Paribatra as the chairman.
In May 2024, it will be the 50th anniversary of the official opening of the BIMA, and 36 years since it had to close down. It's worth considering whether it's time for the BIMA to be revived as an art space once again. You're invited to help revive the atmosphere, listen to ideas, and propose new solutions for the Bhirasri Institution of Modern Art about what it should become or what role it should play in Thai society in the future.

วิถีชีวิตของคนไทยผูกพันอยู่กับสายน้ำมาเนิ่นนาน เห็นได้จากวัฒนธรรมหรือประเพณีที่เกี่ยวข้องกับน้ำ ไม่ว่าในยุคสมัยใดแหล่งน้ำล้วนมีความสำคัญอย่างยิ่งยวด ไม่ว่าจะเป็นเพื่อการอุปโภค บริโภค การเกษตร ทั้งยังเป็นแหล่งของการตั้งถิ่นฐานที่อยู่อาศัย เป็นเมืองและเป็นรัฐ แม่น้ำจึงเปรียบเสมือนเส้นเลือดสำคัญทำหน้าที่หล่อเลี้ยงชีวิตผู้คน ในอดีตผู้คนจะเรียนรู้เข้าใจในวิถีแห่งธรรมชาติที่ไม่สามารถควบคุมได้ การสร้างบ้านแบบเรือนแพหรือสร้างเรือยกพื้นสูงเป็นหนึ่งในวิถีการปรับตัวให้เข้ากับธรรมชาติ “เรือ” จึงเป็นอีกรูปแบบหนึ่งที่สะท้อนให้เห็นถึงวิถีชีวิตของคนกับสายน้ำ หน้าที่ของสายน้ำอาจเปลี่ยนไปตามยุคสมัยอันเกิดจากการเปลี่ยนผ่านของสังคมและผู้คนที่เป็นตัวกำหนดบทบาทใหม่ให้แก่แม่น้ำ แม้วิถีชีวิตของคนไทยในยุคดิจิทัลถูกกำหนดให้ดำเนินไปด้วยความไวของสัญญาณอินเทอร์เน็ต แต่กระนั้นก็ไม่ได้ทำให้ผู้คนหยุดความคำนึงถึงบรรยากาศและวิถีชีวิตเก่า ๆ ที่ดำเนินคู่ไปกับสายน้ำได้เลย กลับทำให้ยิ่งโหยหาและปรารถนาที่จะดึงเอาความรู้สึกดั้งเดิมเหล่านั้นกลับมา

บรรยากาศและวิถีเหล่านั้นเห็นได้จากงานของ วรสันต์ สุภาพ ศิลปินผู้หลงใหลในความหมายของ “ชีวิตสายน้ำ” วรสันต์ใช้ภาษาภาพบรรยายวิถีชีวิตบนเรือที่ล่องไป พร้อม ๆ กับวัฏจักรของวิถีชีวิตที่ดำเนินไปในแต่ละช่วงเวลา กิจวัตรภาพยามเช้า ภาพหญิงสาวอาบน้ำ ความอบอุ่นของครอบครัว สายสัมพันธ์พ่อแม่ลูก คนและสัตว์เลี้ยง ความสุขอันเรียบง่าย ความสงบ อิสระเสรี ที่การเกิดแก่เจ็บตายล้วนอยู่บนเรือ วิถีชีวิตท้าย “เรือเอี้ยมจุ๊น” หรือเรือต่อขนาดใหญ่ที่ส่วนด้านหน้าใช้เป็นเรือบรรทุกสินค้าและส่วนด้านหลังเป็นที่อยู่อาศัย เป็นเอกลักษณ์ที่ปรากฏอยู่ในผลงานศิลปะของวรสันต์อย่างสม่ำเสมอ

ภาพเรือเอี๊ยมจุ๊นที่ล่องลอยบนผิวแม่น้ำ เรื่องราวการใช้ชีวิตของคนไทยนับตั้งแต่อดีตจนถึงปัจจุบันที่ผูกพันอยู่กับสายน้ำ วัดวาอารามเป็นฉากหลังที่ตั้งใจสื่อถึงกรุงเทพมหานครที่ครั้งหนึ่งเคยได้รับการขนานนามว่า เวนิสตะวันออก “ชีวิตสายน้ำ” (Life Along the River) จึงเป็นหัวข้อที่วรสันต์ใช้ในการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานมาอย่างต่อเนื่องมากว่า 30 ปี

Water-related culture and traditions are proof that the Thai way of life has long been associated with water. Water sources are critical in any era, whether for consumption, agriculture, or settlement purposes. It exists as both a city and a state. Rivers are thus like vital blood vessels that sustain people's lives. People in the past learned to understand nature's uncontrollable ways. Building a houseboat or a raised boat is one way to adapt to the natural environment. "Boat" is another form that reflects people's relationship with water. Rivers' functions may change over time as society and people define new roles for them. Even though the speed of the internet signal determines how Thais live in the digital age, this does not stop them from considering the atmosphere and traditional way of life associated with the river. Instead, it makes you yearn for and desire to relive your original feelings.

These atmospheres and ways of life can be seen in the work of Vorasan Supap, an artist who is passionate about the meaning of "Life Along the River." Supap uses visual language to describe life on a floating boat. Picture of daily life, such as eating, a young woman bathing on a boat, and family, including father, mother, children, and pets. Simple happiness, peace, and freedom exist alongside birth, old age, sickness, and death. Life on the "Eiam Jun boat," which is a large container ship with the front part used as a cargo ship and the back part as a residence. Supap's artworks frequently feature this distinct identity.

Images of Eiam Jun boats floating on the surface of the river tell the story of Thai people's lives from the past to the present, which are linked to the river. The temples in the background are meant to represent Bangkok, which was once known as Eastern Venice. "Life Along the River" is thus a topic on which Supap has consistently focused for over 35 years.

“IKIRO" is a Japanese word that translates to " be alive" in English. Takahiro Suzuki, a Japanese artist born in the year 1967 in Osaka, started writing the word "IKIRO" in his journal when he was about 20 years old. It is a word that gave him courage and has made his life meaningful to this day. His artistic career began in Tokyo where he created paintings, sculptures, installations, and performance art. However, he never stopped writing "IKIRO," realizing its powerful significance. With a simple style of writing this word,
The year 1996 marks his first appearance in New York to test his potential as an artist there. The first "IKIRO" exhibition was held in New York. Since then, the artist has written "IKIRO" in various places around the world. He has encountered countless people from diverse nationalities, not only in big cities but also in the most remote areas of the world, which has been of incredible value to the artist. In a world increasingly divided and with the latest technology like AI changing the fundamental nature of human coexistence, the artist wants to return to the feelings he had as a young man, and to the word "IKIRO," which gives him great strength and remains as important to the artist today as it was back then.

"On Bare Land" ผลงานโดย Liu Hsin-Ying ศิลปินชาวไต้หวัน ที่ภายในนิทรรศการศิลปินจะพาเราไปสำรวจถึงแนวคิดเรื่องการดำรงอยู่ผ่านภาษาภาพที่จัดแสดง ก้าวข้ามขอบเขตของอารยธรรมและการดำรงชีวิต "On Bare Land" มีความท้าทายบรรทัดฐานดั้งเดิม และโครงสร้างเชิงสัณฐาน โดยเชิญชวนให้ผู้ชมพิจารณาถึงแก่นแท้ของการดำรงอยู่ที่เหนือกว่ากฎเกณฑ์ และข้อจำกัด

จากถ้อยคำของศิลปิน เธอเล่าว่า "ฉันอธิบายว่าฉันคิดอย่างไรเกี่ยวกับการดำรงอยู่ผ่านภาษาภาพ บนพื้นดินที่เปลือยเปล่า เหนือกว่าบรรทัดฐานของอารยธรรมและความต้องการในการยังชีพ เหนือกฎเกณฑ์ และท้ายที่สุดอยู่นอกเหนือโครงสร้างเชิงสัณฐานที่ผู้คนคุ้นเคย ”

นิทรรศการนี้โดดเด่นด้วยการผสมผสานระหว่างสีและเส้นที่มีชีวิตชีวา ชวนให้นึกถึงน้ำและเสียง สร้างความรู้สึกถึงความแผ่ขยายและความลื่นไหล ศิลปินพาผู้ชมท่องสู่อดีตและอนาคตผ่านงานศิลปะของเธอ เกิดความไม่ชัดเจนของเส้นแบ่งระหว่างความเป็นจริงและความเสมือนจริง และในท้ายที่สุดก็พาท่านสื่อไปถึงความเบิกบานอุดมสมบูรณ์ และชีวิตที่ไม่มีความสิ้นสุด

Liu Hsin-Ying’s “On Bare Land” explores the concept of existence through pictorial language, transcending the boundaries of civilization and subsistence. The artist’s work challenges conventional norms and spatial configurations, inviting viewers to contemplate the essence of existence beyond rules and limitations.

In her statement for the exhibition, Liu shares, “I delineate how I think of existence through pictorial language on bare land, beyond the norms of civilization and the needs for subsistence, beyond rules, and ultimately outside the spatial configuration to which people are accustomed.”

The exhibition features a vibrant interplay of colors and lines, reminiscent of water and sound, creating a sense of expansiveness and fluidity. Through her art, Liu navigates between the past and the future, blurring the lines between reality and virtuality, ultimately conveying the exuberance and endlessness of life.
