เริ่มที่นิทรรศการชื่อยาวเหยียดอย่าง “A Lion Threw 41 Zebra's Hearts to Feed Sharks Under the Apple Trees by Walden Lagoon” โดย เทอดเกียรติ หวังวัชรกุล กับนิทรรศการเดี่ยวครั้งใหม่ของศิลปิน ที่มาพร้อมกับเทคนิคการวาดภาพที่ไม่ได้ใช้พู่กันเหมือนศิลปินทั่วไป แต่ใช้ลูกบอล จุดเป็นรูปร่างต่างๆ ต่อด้วยนิทรรศการ “ASPIRATION” โดย ASIN ศิลปินสายสตรีทอาร์ตชื่อดัง ที่เหล่าสายอาร์ตต้องเคยเห็นผลงานกันมาบ้างตามกำแพงทั่วเมือง กับการกลับมาจัดนิทรรศการเดี่ยวครั้งใหม่ของศิลปิน ณ CENTRAL: THE ORIGINAL STORE และนิทรรศการจากประเทศญี่ปุ่นกับ “This is Thonglor” โดย MUEBON ศิลปินไทยชื่อดังกับการไปจัดนิทรรศการไกลถึงประเทศญี่ปุ่น ที่จะบอกเล่าถึง Pop Culture ของย่านทองหล่อ ที่ผสมผสานความเป็นไทยและญี่ปุ่นกันได้อย่างลงตัว ยังมีนิทรรศการไหนที่น่าสนใจอีกบ้าง ตามไปอ่านด้านในกันได้เลย!!

Hi Art Lovers! Starting the 2nd week of August with many captivating exhibitions, let’s check it out!

Let’s start with a uniquely long exhibition name, “A Lion Threw 41 Zebra's Hearts to Feed Sharks Under the Apple Trees by Walden Lagoon,” a solo exhibition by Therdkiat Wangwatcharakul. The artist doesn’t create paintings entirely from the conventional technique of a brushstroke, but rather from a round-shaped ball that is used for creating dots. Next is the exhibition by a famous street artist, ASIN, in “ASPIRATION” in which art lovers must have seen some of his works on the walls around the city. He’s back with a solo exhibition exhibited at CENTRAL : THE ORIGINAL STORE. Then, flying to Japan to visit a popular Thai artist’s exhibition, “This is Thonglor” by MUEBON, conveying a pop culture of Thonglor, which expresses a good combination of Thai and Japanese cultures. Back in 2012-2013, AS!N kickstarted his artistic journey by expressing his ideas through vibrant "chicken" characters on street walls. His unique style caught everyone's eye and helped him build a vast network of connections. In 2015, he took things to the next level, curating a groundbreaking exhibition that brought together Thai and foreign artists.

In This is Thonglor, internationally lauded Thai street artist MUEBON reexamines the area and cultural relationships within the 2020’s “Internet of Place” era. With the advent of the future “Web 3” internet, or “Metaverse”, and other future technologies such as decentralized blockchains, AI, big data, and digital assets like cryptocurrencies and NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens), the integration of the “Real World” and the “Virtual World” will become more and more possible. We now live in the digital age, where we can see the physical and virtual worlds pouring over into one another, blurring the line between them until it eventually fades away altogether.
Soi Thonglor, aka Sukhumvit 55, is a crucial district in the heart of Thailand’s capital, spanning between the major throughways of Petchaburi Road and Sukhumvit Road. Soi Thonglor takes its name from Lt. Thonglor Khamhiran, who owned land in the area and was a naval officer as well as an active member of the Khana Ratsadon (People’s Party) during the 1932 Siamese Revolution. Later, during World War II, the area came to be occupied by the Japanese military, establishing the area as a hub for Japanese culture and influence.
These days Thonglor is a trendy and bustling neighborhood with a significant Japanese expat community. Over the past 100 years the cultures of Thailand and Japan have poured over and mixed into each other over and over through food, literature, cartoons, movies, music, and all other aspects of daily life.
This is Thonglor will be MUEBON’s second solo-exhibition to be held in Tokyo, and will be held at GALLERY ETHER in Nishiazabu. The artist invites all to visit and experience a strange world where cultures continue to take new roots and grow, intermixing and displacing one another as they pervade everywhere ISPs travel. This is Thonglor, a world where the pop-cultures of Japan and Siam stay connected from a distance of 4,622 kilometers away.

"สิงโตโยนหัวใจ 41 ดวงของม้าลายให้ฉลามกินใต้ต้นแอ๊ปเปิ้ลริมบึงวอลเดน” นิทรรศการเดี่ยวโดยศิลปิน เทอดเกียรติ หวังวัชรกุล นิทรรศการครั้งนี้ศิลปินสร้างสรรค์งานจิตรกรรมถ่ายทอดห้วงความรู้สึกถึงความรักความสัมพันธ์ของตนและคนรักที่มีต่อกันในบริบทหลังการแยกทาง โดยงานนิทรรศการครั้งนี้เปรียบดังบทบันทึกสำคัญของช่วงชีวิตศิลปิน เขาได้ใช้สัญลักษณ์ภาพสิงโตแทนตัวของศิลปิน (เขา) และม้าลายคือคู่รักที่ได้แยกทางกัน (เธอ) ทั้งสิงโตและม้าลายที่ร่วมอยู่ในเหตุการณ์บางอย่างริมบึงวอลเดน
บึงวอลเดนเป็นที่จดจำไปทั่วโลกจากหนังสือเรื่อง "วอลเดน" ที่ถูกเขียนขึ้นเมื่อ 174 ปีที่แล้ว (ค.ศ.1846) โดย ‘เฮนรี่ เดวิด ธอโร’ (Henry David Thoreau) บึงวอลเดนที่กล่าวถึงในหนังสือนั้นเป็นสถานที่ที่ผู้เขียน (ธอโร) ได้ไปใช้ชีวิตอย่างสงบ สันโดษ เพื่อสำรวจชีวิตตนเองควบคู่ไปกับการเฝ้าสังเกตปรากฏการณ์ธรรมชาติริมบึงวอลเดนนั้น
ศิลปินไม่ได้สร้างงานจิตรกรรมทั้งหมดขึ้นโดยขนบของการระบายสี แต่เป็นการนำลูกบอลทรงกลมสร้างเทคนิคจุดเป็นรูปร่าง รูปทรงอย่างอิสระ และมีความสมบูรณ์ของปริมาตรที่น่าทึ่งด้วยการกดหมุนมือเป็นจังหวะหนักเบา ในงานชุดนี้ศิลปินยังใช้เทคนิคเดียวกันกับการทำจุดแตกแขนงมาเป็นอีกแบบ ด้วยวิธีการนำลูกบอลนั้นลากเส้นอย่างรวดเร็วและในเส้นนั้นมีน้ำหนักแสงเงาในตัว ทำให้เกิดมิติลึกตื้นของภาพที่แปลกตา ภาพหัวใจดวงเล็กดวงใหญ่หลากสีสัน คละด้วยภาพสัญลักษณ์ที่สื่อความนัยจากใจศิลปิน ทั้ง สิงโต ฉลาม แอปเปิ้ลและบึงวอลเดน ร้อยเรียงคล้ายดังประโยคบอกเล่าเรียบง่ายที่ศิลปินนั้นพร่ำเอ่ยบอกตนเองในวันที่ความรักนั้นกำลังเปลี่ยนบทบาทไป

An art exhibition with a uniquely long name ‘A Lion Threw 41 Zebra's Hearts to Feed Sharks Under the Apple Trees by Walden Lagoon’ is a solo exhibition by Therdkiat Wangwatcharakul. The artist creates each painting to express his own experience on love and relationships between himself and a former partner after their separation. This solo exhibition serves as a diary that documents a period of the artist’s life. He uses a lion as a symbol of himself and a zebra as a symbol of his ex. Both a lion and a zebra were once together, sharing moments by the Walden Lagoon.
The Walden Lagoon is universally remembered from the book ‘Walden’ by Henry David Thoreau, written 174 years ago (1846). It is the place where the author (Thoreau) lived peacefully on his own to inspect life, along with observe natural phenomena around the lagoon.
The artist doesn’t create paintings entirely from the conventional technique of a brushstroke, but rather from a round-shaped ball that used for creating dots. The dots then create shapes freely without the limitation of an edge, as well as the completeness of volumes from a twist of a wrist, both firmly and softly. In this collection, the artist uses not only the same dot technique, but also extends the technique into drawing a line with a ball swiftly. In that line, there’re shape and shadow, which create peculiar depth and dimension.

“Hakuna Matata” โดย ณัฐิวุฒิ ชูมะโนวัฒน์ นิทรรศการเดี่ยวครั้งที่ 4 ของศิลปิน ที่เกิดจากความประทับใจความครื้นเครง ของ “ฮาคูน่า มาทาท่า” เพลงที่หลาย ๆ คนคุ้นหูกันดีจากการ์ตูนส์เดอะไลอ้อนคิง ที่เเม้จะเป็นเหตุการณ์ที่ดูเหมือนเสี่ยงกับความตายก็ยังกลับกลายดูง่าย รื่นเริง เเละฝากรอยยิ้มไว้กับหลาย ๆ คน นำมาซึ่งการขยับมุมมองของศิลปินให้ออกมานอกห้องทำงานศิลปะที่เคยจดจ่อเเละคร่ำเคร่ง และได้สนใจกับเรื่องราวชวนให้อมยิ้มรอบ ๆ ตัว จนได้พบว่าไม่ว่าใคร ๆ ก็ต่างพยายามค้นหาความสุขให้ตัวเองได้ในทุกสถานที่ที่ควรจะมีชีวิตดี ๆ ที่ลงตัวกันทั้งนั้น ไม่ว่าจะเจอปัญหาเล็กใหญ่มาในรูปแบบไหนก็พยายามใช้ชีวิตอย่างไร้กังวล และพยายามเอาตัวรอดกับข้อจำกัดมากมาย พยายามคุ้นชินกับเรื่องแปลก ๆ เหมือนไม่เคยมีอะไรเกิดขึ้น
ตลอดการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานหลายปีที่ผ่านมา ณัฐิวุฒิ นำเสนอผลงานผ่านวีถีชีวิตที่วุ่นวายจากการทำงานของตนเอง เพราะสิ่งเหล่านี้เป็นเรื่องใกล้ตัวที่หลาย ๆ คนไม่เคยได้รับรู้ แต่ครั้งนี้จึงถ่ายทอดผลงานออกมาเพื่อแซวตัวเองและสังคมรอบตัวที่ถูกทำให้ใช้ชีวิตเหมือนดั่งเพลง Hakuna Matata

The catchy melody of the song from "The Lion King" tells a story of an event that appears to be a life-threatening but transforms into something easygoing and cheerful, and leaves a smile on many people's faces.
“Hakuna Matata” is the 4th solo exhibition by Nattiwut Choomanowat. Inspired by the joyfully of “Hakuna Matata”, Nuttiwut expanded his perspective beyond the confines of his art studio, where he had previously focused on. He became interested in stories that encourage smiles all around until he discovered that no matter who they are, everyone strives to find happiness for themselves in every place where a good life should exist. Regardless of encountering challenges, big or small, they try to live a worry-free life and find ways to overcome countless limitations. They try to become familiar with the unfamiliar, as if nothing ever happened.
Throughout many years of creative work, Nuttiwut presents his artwork through the chaotic journey of his own life because these experiences are relatable to may people who may have never realized it. However, this time, he expresses his work to make fun of himself and the surrounding society, which are influenced to live life as if it were the song "Hakuna Matata."
