นาทีนี้คงไม่มีใครไม่รู้จักสองศิลปินรุ่นใหม่ที่ร้อนแรงที่สุด ณ ขณะนี้อย่าง “ซันเต๋อ” ศิลปินเจ้าของลายเส้นมินิมอลแต่แฝงไปด้วยเนื้อหากินใจ เข้าถึงทุกคน และ “ก้องกาน” ศิลปินเจ้าของผลงาน Teleport art ที่สอดแทรกถึงวิถีชีวิตต่างๆในสังคม ความหลากหลายทางเพศ และอื่นๆอีกมากมาย วันนี้เราจะพาทุกคนไปรู้จักกับสองศิลปินให้มากยิ่งขึ้นไปอีก ถ้าพร้อมแล้วก็ตามไปรับชมกันได้เลย!!
ซันเต๋อ - ยศนันท์ วุฒิกรสมบัติกุล เกิดปี พ.ศ. 2532 สำเร็จการศึกษาปริญญาตรีจากคณะมัณฑนศิลป์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร ในปี 2554 ก่อนหน้าที่ซันเต๋อจะผันตัวมาเป็นศิลปินเต็มตัว เขาได้ทำงานในบริษัทเอเจนซี่โฆษณา พร้อมกับออกแบบภาพประกอบอยู่ระยะหนึ่ง ก่อนจะออกไปเป็นศิลปินอิสระเต็มเวลา จนกระทั่งได้มีโอกาสบินไปนิวยอร์กและเริ่มสร้างสรรค์ผลงานศิลปะ ก่อนที่จะกลับมาที่บ้านเกิดพร้อมกับผลงานที่ดังระเบิด จนใครที่รู้จักงานของซันเต๋อก็อยากที่จะมีผลงานของศิลปินคนนี้ไว้ครอบครอง ไม่ว่าจะเป็นภาพเพ้นท์ ภาพปริ้นท์ หรือของใช้อีกมากมายที่ศิลปินได้ไปคอลแลบกับแบรนด์ต่างๆ ที่เรียกได้ว่าไม่ว่าจะคอลแลบกับอะไร ก็จะ Sold out ได้ในเวลาอันรวดเร็ว เรียกได้ว่าซันเต๋อเป็นหนึ่งในศิลปินรุ่นใหม่ที่มีชื่อเสียงทั้งในประเทศไทยและต่างประเทศเลยทีเดียว

ผลงานของซันเต๋อ จัดแสดงในนิทรรศการมากมาย ทั้งนิทรรศการกลุ่มและนิทรรศการเดี่ยว ทั้งในไทยและต่างประเทศ เช่น นิทรรศการเดี่ยว Picnic with Suntur ณ Time square ประเทศฮ่องกง ปี 2557, นิทรรศการเดี่ยว Zero Decible ณ Yelo House กรุงเทพมหานคร ปี 2561 หรือหนึ่งในนิทรรศการที่เป็นที่พูดถึงมากที่สุดในช่วงต้นปีที่แล้วกับ นิทรรศการเดี่ยว Take Your Time ณ River City Bangkok กรุงเทพมหานคร ปี 2566

ผลงานของซันเต๋อ เป็นภาพเขียนที่เรียบง่าย มีเอกลักษณ์เป็นความว่างเปล่าของพื้นที่ภายในรูปภาพ แต่ละผลงาน ซันเต๋อได้ใส่เนื้อหาต่างๆตามความรู้สึกในช่วงนั้น เล่าเรื่องราวผ่านการมองด้วยมุมกว้างจากระยะไกล ทำให้แต่ละภาพมีเนื้อหาที่กินใจ ปะปนไปทั้งความสุขและความเศร้า ซึ่งบางภาพแค่เรามองก็ทำให้เราน้ำตาไหลได้โดยไม่รู้ตัว
หนึ่งในผลงานของซันเต๋อที่พวกเราชาว Art Tank Media ชอบมากที่สุด คือผลงานจากนิทรรศการ ‘Take Your Time’ กับผลงานชื่อ ‘DON'T WORRY MOM, I'M FINE’ ซึ่งเป็นภาพเด็กที่กำลังคุยอยู่ในตู้โทรศัพท์ท่ามกลางความมืดมิดและความอ้างว้างทั่วทั้งภาพ ตรงจุดที่เด็กน้อยกำลังคุยโทรศัพทอยู่ ก็มีแสงสว่างออกมา ซึ่งชื่อผลงานและบรรยากาศต่างๆของรูปภาพ ทำให้เรานึกย้อนถึงตอนที่เรากำลังเครียดหรือเผชิญปัญหาต่างๆที่ถาโถมเข้ามา เพียงแค่เรายกหูโทรศัพท์โทรหาแม่หรือคนในครอบครัวของเรา ก็ทำให้เรามีกำลังใจในการเผชิญสิ่งต่างๆต่อไป เรียกได้ว่าเป็นหนึ่งในภาพที่ประทับใจและชอบมากๆ
อีกหนึ่งศิลปินชื่อดังอย่าง ก้องกาน - กันตภณ เมธีกุล เกิดปี พ.ศ. 2532 สำเร็จการศึกษาปริญญาตรีจากคณะมัณฑนศิลป์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร ในปี 2554 หลังจากเรียนจบ ก้องกานได้ทำงานในบริษัทเอเจนซี่โฆษณา ซึ่งก็ถือเป็นดาวรุ่งของวงการโฆษณาเลยก็ว่าได้ เพราะว่าได้รางวัลจากเมืองคานส์ ที่ถือว่าเป็นรางวัลระดับโลกและรางวัลสูงสุดในวงการครีเอทีฟโฆษณา และรางวัลอื่นๆอีก ติดต่อกันกว่า 3 ปี จนถึงจุดหนึ่งที่ก้องกานเริ่มอยากที่จะทำอะไรเป็นของตัวเอง จึงลาออกจากวงการครีเอทีฟโฆษณา และได้ไปเริ่มใช้ชีวิตอยู่นิวยอร์ค และเริ่มเข้าสู่เส้นทางสู่การเป็นศิลปินเป็นอย่างเต็มตัว

ผลงานของก้องกานถูกนำไปจัดแสดงหลายครั้งทั้งในไทยและต่างประเทศ อาทิ นิทรรศการเดี่ยว Lose Love ณ FabCafe กรุงเทพมหานคร ปี 2558, นิทรรศการเดี่ยว Teleport Exhibition ณ Warehouse 30 กรุงเทพมหานคร ปี 2560, นิทรรศการเดี่ยว The Another Dimension ณ Siri House ประเทศสิงค์โปร์ ปี 2561, นิทรรศการเดี่ยว Introspection ณ Tang Contemporary Art Bangkok ปี 2564, นิทรรศการเดี่ยว INNER PLACE EXHIBITION ณ Tang Contemporary Art, Beijing ปี 2565, นิทรรศการเดี่ยว Public and Private ณ Tang Contemporary Art, Seoul ปี 2566 และนิทรรศการกลุ่มอีกมากมาย

ผลงานที่เราคุ้นตากับก้องกานนั้น คือผลงาน Teleport Art ซึ่งก้องกานใช้ภาพคนกำลังเคลื่อนย้าย ทะลุผ่านหลุมดำ ผลงานของก้องกานเล่าเรื่องผ่านลายเส้นที่เรียบง่ายแต่มีเนื้อหาสะท้อนถึงประเด็นด้านความรู้สึกและตัวตนภายในสังคมปัจจุบัน ไม่ว่าจะเป็นเรื่องความเท่าเทียมทางเพศ ชนชั้น เชื้อชาติ และอื่นๆอีกมากมาย
หนึ่งในผลงานของก้องกานที่พวกเราชอบที่สุด คือผลงานจากนิทรรศการเดี่ยว ‘For Someone Who Hates The Rainbow’ ที่จัดขึ้น ณ ประเทศฝรั่งเศส ในปี 2565 กับผลงาน ‘Connected’ ที่บอกเล่าถึงความรักที่ไม่มีรูปแบบ มีอิสระที่จะรักแบบไหนก็ได้ นำเสนอผ่านทางประตูมิติที่ถือเป็นเอกลักษณ์ของศิลปิน และได้ใช้สีรุ้งเป็นตัวสื่อความหมาย สำหรับก้องกานนั้น สีรุ้งถือเป็นสัญลักษณ์สำคัญเพราะเป็นตัวแทนของชาว LGBTQ+ ทั่วโลก เปรียบเป็นสารแห่งอิสรภาพที่จะทำให้หลุดพ้นจากความคาดหวังของสังคมและสามารถใช้ชีวิตได้อย่างอิสระสมบูรณ์ในแบบที่ตัวเองต้องการ และก้องกานก็ยังได้นำผลงานจากนิทรรศการ ‘For Someone Who Hates The Rainbow’ ได้ไปคอลแลบกับแบรนด์เคสมือถือเจ้าดังอย่าง Casetify ให้เราได้ไปจับจองเป็นเจ้าของอีกด้วย ใครที่เป็นแฟนคลับก้องกานห้ามพลาดเด็ดขาด

เราจะเห็นได้ว่า ก้องกานและซันเต๋อเป็นศิลปินที่มีเส้นทางชีวิตคล้ายกัน ทั้งสองคนเป็นเพื่อนร่วมคณะจากคณะมัณฑนศิลป์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร จากนั้นได้เข้าทำงานในบริษัทโฆษณา พร้อมกับออกแบบภาพประกอบอยู่ระยะหนึ่ง และก็ได้ไปนิวยอร์กและเริ่มสร้างสรรค์ผลงานศิลปะ และเมื่อกลับมาอยู่ไทย ทั้งสองคนก็เริ่มทำงานศิลปะอย่างเต็มตัว ซึ่งผลงานของทั้งสองศิลปินก็มีเอกลักษณ์เฉพาะตัว สามารถเข้าถึงผู้คนได้ทุกเพศ ทุกวัย และทั้งสองคนยังได้คอลแลบกับแบรนด์ต่าง ๆ มากมาย ทั้ง Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Innisfree, La Mer อีกด้วย
ในช่วงต้นเดือนมีนาคมที่จะถึงนี้ เราจะได้เห็นผลงานการคอลแลบกันของสองศิลปิน “ซันเต๋อ” และ “ก้องกาน” ที่ถือว่าเป็นการคอลแลบกันครั้งแรกของทั้งสองคน กับผลงาน “There are some reasons why we become friends (2566)” ผลงานขนาดใหญ่กว่า 2 เมตรที่ผสมผสานองค์ประกอบและเอกลักษณ์ของทั้งสองศิลปินเข้าไว้ด้วยกันได้อย่างลงตัว ผลงานชิ้นนี้เป็นผลงานที่บอกเล่าเรื่องราวมิตรภาพที่มีความแตกต่างกัน คล้ายภาพสะท้อนมิตรภาพระหว่างสองศิลปิน โดยนำเสนอผ่านภาพคาแรคเตอร์เทเลพอร์ตของก้องกานโผล่จากหลุมดำที่ฉายภาพห้วงอวกาศ บนมือปรากฏภาพนักบินอวกาศตัวจิ๋วจากซันเต๋อ ในโทนสีฟ้าอ่อนและทุ่งหญ้าสีเขียวสดในฉากหลังให้ความรู้สึกสงบ สบายตา ใครที่ได้เห็นผลงานชิ้นนี้ จะต้องตกหลุมรักกันอย่างแน่นอน

Suntur - Yozanun Wutigonsombutkul was born in 1989. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree from the Faculty of Decorative Arts at Silpakorn University in 2011. Before Suntur became a full-time artist, he worked at an advertising agency and did some illustration work for a while. He later became a full-time freelance artist, which led to an opportunity to fly to New York and begin creating art. Upon returning to his homeland, his work became explosively popular, making everyone who knew Suntur's work want to own a piece by this artist. Whether it's paintings, prints, or various items that the artist collaborated with different brands, anything he collaborates on sells out very quickly. Suntur is considered one of the new generation artists who is famous both in Thailand and internationally.

Suntur's works have been exhibited in many exhibitions, both group and solo, in Thailand and abroad. For example, the solo exhibition 'Picnic with Suntur' at Times Square in Hong Kong in 2014, the solo exhibition 'Zero Decible' at Yelo House in Bangkok in 2018, or one of the most talked-about exhibitions at the beginning of last year, the solo exhibition 'Take Your Time' at River City Bangkok in 2023.

Suntur's works are simple paintings that are characterized by the emptiness of space within the picture. In each piece, Suntur includes various contents based on the feelings of the time, telling stories through a wide-angle perspective from a distance, making each image emotionally compelling, mixing both happiness and sadness, where some images can even bring us to tears without realizing it.
One of our favorite works by Suntur is from the 'Take Your Time' exhibition, titled 'DON'T WORRY MOM, I'M FINE', which depicts a child talking in the telephone booth amidst darkness and emptiness throughout the picture. At the point where the child is talking on the phone, there is light shining through. The title of the work and the atmosphere of the picture remind us of times when we are stressed or facing various problems that overwhelm us. Just picking up the phone to call our mother or a family member can give us the strength to face various challenges. It is indeed one of the most impressive and favorite images.
Another famous artist, Gongkan - Kantapon Metheekul, was born in the year 1989. He graduated with a bachelor's degree from the Faculty of Decorative Arts at Silpakorn University in 2011. After graduating, Gongkan worked in an advertising agency company, where he was considered a rising star in the advertising industry. This is because he won awards from Cannes, which are considered the world’s highest honors in the creative advertising industry, and other awards for more than 3 consecutive years. Eventually, Gongkan reached a point where he wanted to do something on his own, so he left the advertising industry and started a new life in New York, embarking on the path to becoming a full-fledged artist.

Gongkan's work has been exhibited many times both in Thailand and abroad. Examples include the solo exhibition 'Lose Love' at FabCafe in Bangkok in 2015, 'Teleport Exhibition' at Warehouse 30 in Bangkok in 2017, 'The Another Dimension' at Siri House in Singapore in 2018, 'Introspection' at Tang Contemporary Art Bangkok in 2021, 'INNER PLACE EXHIBITION' at Tang Contemporary Art, Beijing in 2022, 'Public and Private' at Tang Contemporary Art, Seoul in 2023, and many more group exhibitions.

The work we are familiar with from Gongkan is the Teleport Art series, where Kongkan uses images of people moving through black holes. Kongkan’s work tells a story through simple lines but with content that reflects on issues of feelings and identity within contemporary society, whether it is about gender equality, class, race, and many others.
One of our favorite works of Gongkan is from the solo exhibition 'For Someone Who Hates The Rainbow', held in France in 2022, with the work 'Connected' which tells about love without form, free to love in any way, presented through a teleport door that is characteristic of the artist and using the rainbow as a means of conveying meaning. For Gongkan, the rainbow is an important symbol because it represents the LGBTQ+ community around the world, comparing it to the essence of freedom that will escape from societal expectations and be able to live freely and fully in the way one wants. Gongkan also brought the work from the exhibition 'For Someone Who Hates The Rainbow' to collaborate with the famous mobile case brand Casetify, allowing us to own it. Fans of Gongkan should not miss it.
In early March, we will witness the first collaboration between two artists, "Suntur" and "Gongkan". They have created a piece titled "There are some reasons why we become friends (2023)", acrylic on a large two-metre canvas. This piece is a perfect combination of the two artists’ compositions and identities. It tells a story of a friendship despite the differences, a reflection of the friendship between the two artists themselves. The said message was conveyed through Gongkan’s teleporting character appearing on the black hole that projects space. On the character’s hand appears a tiny astronaut by Suntur. The soft blue tones and the vibrant green field in the background create a feeling of serenity and are comfortable to the eyes of the onlookers. Anyone who sees this piece will surely fall in love with it.
