เริ่มจากงาน “THINK…ทิ้งชีวิต” นิทรรศการที่จะชวนให้เรามาฉุกคิด เปลี่ยนวิธีคิดก่อน ‘ทิ้งขยะ’ ผ่านผลงานจากศิลปิน 9 ท่าน พร้อมกับกิจกรรมอีกมากมายภายในงาน ณ ลานด้านหน้าหอศิลปวัฒนธรรมแห่งกรุงเทพมหานคร, ลาน ONESIAM และศูนย์การค้า MBK Center ต่อด้วยนิทรรศการ “Nocturnal Lumina” นิทรรศการกลุ่มจากศิลปิน 10 ท่าน ที่จะพาเราไปพบกับเรื่องราวจากมุมในเงาหลากหลายมิติทั้ง ความรู้สึกรัก ความหวัง ความสุข ความทุกข์ อนาคต อดีตกาล ความหวาดกลัว กล้าหาญ และความแปลกประหลาดใจที่เชื้อเชิญให้ผู้ชมได้จินตนาการต่อไม่รู้จบ และนิทรรศการจากต่างประเทศ “OUTWORN” โดย จักกาย ศิริบุตร กับการจัด Solo Exhibition ณ ฮ่องกง กับผลงานศิลปะสิ่งทอแบบแขวน (พรมผนัง) 5 ชุดใหม่ แต่ละชุดสร้างสรรค์ขึ้นจากนำเครื่องแบบที่ได้มาจากคนงานในภาคอุตสาหกรรมการบริการในประเทศไทยแล้วนำมาต่อกัน ยังมีนิทรรศการไหนที่น่าสนใจอีกบ้าง ตามไปอ่านด้านในกันได้เลย!!
Starting with the exhibition "THINK...Discard Life," an event that encourages us to rethink and change our mindset before 'throwing away' waste. Featuring works from 9 artists, along with various activities within the event, it's taking place at the front courtyard of the Bangkok Art and Culture Center, ONESIAM Square, and MBK Center. Following that, there's the exhibition "Nocturnal Lumina," showcasing works from 10 artists that take us on a journey through various dimensions in the shadows. It explores feelings of love, hope, happiness, sorrow, the future, past moments, fears, bravery, and the intriguing imagination that invites viewers to endless interpretations.
Additionally, there's an exhibition from abroad titled "OUTWORN" by Jakkai Siributr, featuring a solo exhibition in Hong Kong. The art pieces consist of 5 new sets of woven textile art (wall hangings), creatively crafted by combining templates obtained from workers in the service industry in Thailand.

La Lanta Fine Art is pleased to announce a duo exhibition by Sitvut Prabripoo and Komsan Phetsit. The 2 part exhibition titled “HOME IS A WAY OF LIFE. WAY OF LIFE IS HOME” presenting ways of life in the natural world and in urban culture.

Sitvut Prabripoo explores the concept of HOME IS A WAY OF LIFE through visuals of sceneries depicting animals in their natural habitat. The artist uses the Thai traditional craftsmanship of gradient colored glass combined with oil painting technique, resulting in atmospheric landscape depiction of forest, mountain, lotus pond, and ocean waves. The subject of his artwork is animals living in their natural environment, where they call ‘home’.

Sitvut’s artwork shows in parallel with Komsan Phetsit’s series of WAY OF LIFE IS HOME. Komsan presents a series of sculpture installations based on the scenes in the Thai-Chinese Charoenkrung area that are slowly changing in the waves of time. Collecting information from community maps, old photographs, and shophouse materials, the artist manipulates the materials into a semi-abstract presentation. Fragments of materials, the atmospheric lights and the colors of the nightlife are combined, condensed, and overlaid to create multiple layers. The interwoven nature of the installations signifies collective memories and records of events that had happened in this Bangkok community which is ‘home’ to many of us.

“HOME IS A WAY OF LIFE. WAY OF LIFE IS HOME” encourages the appreciation of human’s relationship with nature and the appreciation of diverse cultures that co-exist in urban living.

OUTWORN โดย จักกาย ศิริบุตร นำเสนอผลงานศิลปะสิ่งทอแบบแขวน (พรมผนัง) 5 ชุดใหม่ แต่ละชุดสร้างสรรค์ขึ้นจากนำเครื่องแบบที่ได้มาจากคนงานในภาคอุตสาหกรรมการบริการในประเทศไทยแล้วนำมาต่อกัน โดยสะท้อนถึงความรู้สึกของศิลปินต่อการจัดการกับโรคระบาดของทางการ ด้วยเศรษฐกิจของประเทศไทยที่ต้องพึ่งพาการท่องเที่ยวเป็นส่วนใหญ่ทำให้ต้องเผชิญภาวะเศรษฐกิจซบเซาที่ยาวนาน ทั้งยังส่งผลให้เกิดการว่างงานในวงกว้าง รวมทั้งก่อให้เกิดความไม่แน่นอนทางการเงิน ร่างกาย และจิตใจ ทั้งนี้มีการเก็บรวบรวมเครื่องแบบวิชาชีพที่ไม่ใช้แล้วจากบุคคลที่ประสบความเดือดร้อนทางเศรษฐกิจ โดยให้เงินแก่เขาเหล่านั้นเป็นการตอบแทน

เครื่องแบบที่ได้มาแล้วถูกนำมาแยกส่วนแล้วนำกลับไปประกอบร่างสร้างใหม่ให้เป็นพรมผนัง พร้อมประดับประดาด้วยสัญลักษณ์ทางพระพุทธศาสนา ลูกปัด ดอกดาวเรืองเทียม และวัตถุยันต์อื่น ๆ วัตถุเหล่านี้สะท้อนแนวคิดในสังคมไทยที่ว่าหากปราศจากความเชื่อมั่นและไว้วางใจในภาครัฐแล้ว ผู้คนมักจะหันกลับไปเลือกพึ่งพาความเชื่อทางไสยศาสตร์ แนวคิดของจักกายที่นำเสนอมาอย่างต่อเนื่องคือการค้นหาปฏิสัมพันธ์ของพุทธศาสนากับวัตถุนิยมในวิถีชีวิตสมัยใหม่ รวมทั้งวัฒนธรรมสมัยนิยมของไทย ใครที่ไปฮ่องกงช่วงนี้ ก็สามารถแวะไปรับชมกันได้

Flowers Gallery is delighted to present Outworn by Jakkai Siributr, in conjunction with his first major survey exhibition titled Jakkai Siributr: Everybody Wanna Be Happy at CHAT/The Mills (the Centre for Heritage, Arts, and Textile) in Hong Kong.

Siributr is renowned for his intricate tapestries and installations through sewing, embroidery and collaborative community-based projects to weave individual stories resulting from religious and social conflicts on the human condition and diaspora cross South East Asia. Outworn will present a new series of five tapestried installations, each assembled by stitching together uniforms gathered from workers in the service industry in Thailand, reflecting the artist's sentiments towards authorities' handling of the pandemic. Thailand, largely dependent on tourism, went through lengthy periods of economic stagnation and the resulting widespread unemployment brought about a time of financial, physical and psychological uncertainty. Uniforms of various professions in the tourism sector that became obsolete were collected through monetary exchange as a way to assist those individuals who most suffered economically.
